Hi! I’m Laura. I am an undergraduate student at Virginia Tech. Starting in September 2011, I will be studying abroad at the Technical University of Darmstadt in Hesse, Germany (near Frankfurt am Main). My major is mechanical engineering, but I also enjoy programming and hope for a career in robotics research. I am a total geek/nerd and get really excited about new gadgets or software. I try to stay up-to-date with anything Apple creates, but I’ve been known to dabble in the Windows and Linux worlds as well.
I have type 1 diabetes and control it with an Omnipod insulin pump. My Dexcom Seven+ Continuous Glucose Monitor helps me track my blood sugars, and I use an app on my iPod Touch to log my blood sugar readings and other diabetes info.
